The latest vhf/uhf base station that Kenwood put on the marked, except for the TS-2000.(HF and 6m also).
I like this rugged station and use it most for ragchewing on both FM and SSB. Nice audio and the selectivity is very good. I live on a place with very very much noise and strong signals around. Most 2 meter transceivers are disturbed and the squelch opens on mixed signals and images. This never happens with this receiver. Great!

At the moment I just have a vertical antenna (V-2000), so I'm not able to score much in SSB contests these days.
