STUDIO-A Setup

ESSB audio

STUDIO-A, The Basement Shack:
Main shack from back in 1986, when I moved to this QTH at Hellerudtoppen.

First the mike:

New 2010: The AKG Perception 420 studio mike.
This mike comes with a shockmount and have a very nice look. It also has a 8-characteristic switch, low-cut switch, and -10dB attenuator. I plan using this as main mike, as my MT-47 is not well at the moment.

TSM MT-47, a real tube studio mike, using 12AX7/7025 tube.
Choose between 9 different audio characteristics. It has a very warm and transparent sound.
Used with VAC s6 pop filter from
" Popless Voice Screens"

The new AKG Perception 420 condenser microphone.

Behringer MIC2200 Ultra Gain PRO
(Vacuum Tube mic preamp.)

Behringer DEQ2496 UltraCurve PRO Audio Processor.
(Graphic EQ, Parametric EQ, Dynamic EQ, Expander/Gate, Limiter...)

Behringer EX3200 Ultrafex PRO Sound Enhancement Processor.
("Woodoo-box")

Behringer DSP2024P Viritualizer Pro.
( Used as effect processor, plating....)

Ibox from W2IHY

My Ibox is put in a new box, with a PTT button. Ibox has a transformer to separate the ground, to avoid ground-loops and rf-problems. It also has an attenuator. This I use when connecting "da rack" to the TS-870. With the SDR-1000 I connect the rack directly to the input of the Roland FA-66 with no problems so far.

Here is some pictures taken in the Studio-A - a slideshow:
